FAQs - What you need to know

What should I do in case I am arrested for a crime?

"You should not talk to anyone about your case or anything else, and do not answer any questions or reply to accusations. On advice of counsel and because of your rights under the Fifth and Sixth Amendments, you shall talk to no one in the absence of an attorney. You shall not give any consents or make any waivers of your legal rights. Any request for information or for consent to conduct searches or seizures or investigations affecting your person, papers, property, or effects should be addressed to your lawyer. You must request that your lawyer be notified and allowed to be present if any identification, confrontations, tests, examinations, or investigations of any sort are conducted in your case, and do not consent to any such confrontations, tests, examinations, or investigations."
